"Making and Communicating Mathematical Meaning"
Regular participants at MatRIC's annual conferences will know that each conference has a 'special flavour', and it seems that successive conferences have each surpassed the previous. We hope this year's conference will follow this pattern.
The conference includes two keynote speakers:
Michael Dorff, Professor of Mathematics at Brigham Young University, Utah. Michael is currently President of the Mathematical Association of America.
John Mason, Professor Emeritus in Mathematics from the Open University, UK and Honorary Research Fellow at Oxford University.
In addition to the lectures they have been invited to present, John Mason will also lead a workshop on the conference theme … so we expect to be challenged to "think mathematically"!
The conference will be opened by Kristin Flornes, Exectutive Vice-President (Technology) NORCE Norwegian Research Centre AS, and Chair of the Diku Board. Kristin has a PhD in Mathematics from NTNU.
The programme for the conference can be found at https://www.matric.no/events/32 It is also possible to register for the conference on the same page.
As usual, there is no charge for participating in the conference, and MatRIC will pay for overnight accommodation at the Grand Hotel Terminus (the booking is made as part of the registration). We kindly ask participants to make their own travel arrangements and cover the cost from other sources.
We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be another stimulating and we hope enjoyable conference.
